The Lahu hill tribe women wear very distinctive black and red jackets and skirts, and the men wear baggy green or blue pants. They have a reputation as excellent hunters and survive off vegetable cultivation, with some supplementing this meager income with the cultivation of opium.

Where a subgroup name refers to a color, it refers to the traditional color of their dress. These groups do not function as tribes or clans - there are no kin groups above that of the family. 2021年10月12日 · The Lahu hill tribe are also known as the “Muser” in Burmese, meaning hunter, due to their traditionally exemplary hunting skills. Much like the other hill tribes on this list, the Lahu fall under different subgroups, noted by colour due to the slight differences in dress from village to village.

A traditional Lahu Woman's dress consists of a long-sleeve, calf-length shirt over a shorter waist-length shirt, with a long, angle-length skirt. Variations of these garments can be found within the different Lahu sub-groups, although skirt designs remain the same.

Lahu are often called "Long-ears" because of the large silver tubes that the women wear in stretched earlobes. We found that even though they are 'on display' a great deal of time in this popular tourist destination, the Lahu were incredibly friendly and more ready to sit and chat and make music than they were to sell their wares.

2009年8月27日 · Most Lahu Na in Thailand dress like their lowland neighbors for daily wear, but on festive occasions many of them wear traditional clothing. Formerly Lahu wove their own cloth on foot-treadle looms.
