Laolu Senbanjo otherwise known as “Laolu NYC,” is a Nigerian bred, Brooklyn based multidisciplinary artist with a wide-spanning background with music and performing arts, visual art, human rights law, and activism. Having started his career in law, Laolu has always sought out to help others reveal their truth.

Presenting until the end of December 2023, Laolu Senbanjo, also known as Laolu NYC, unveils his latest immersive installation, "The Sacred Room." This 96-day hand-painted experience, complemented by curated sounds, transforms the body into a sacred temple echoing the eternal altar's song—constantly seeking restoration and homage.

Laolu (Olaolu) Senbanjo, also known as "Laolu NYC", is a Nigerian visual artist, musician, singer/songwriter and former human rights attorney. [1] Senbanjo was born and raised in Ilorin, Nigeria by Yoruba parents. His father was a lawyer, his mother was a nurse. He grew up performing in his church's choir.

Láolú's unique technique, which he also coined as the Sacred Art of the Orí is based on the Yoruba religious practice of becoming one with yourself or awakening the God in you (Orí). Láolú's influence creating this artistic approach came from his paternal Grandmother who strongly impacted his life and his Art.
