Senbanjo has coined his style of art, Afromysterics, meaning mystery of the African thought pattern. It incorporates African themes and African traditions. His uses charcoal and distinct patterns to create complex, story-rich art designs that draw heavily on his Yoruba heritage and feature ancient Nigerian symbols and patterns.

Laolu Senbanjo otherwise known as “Laolu NYC,” is a Nigerian bred, Brooklyn based multidisciplinary artist with a wide-spanning background with music and performing arts, visual art, human rights law, and activism. Having started his career in law, Laolu has always sought out to help others reveal their truth.

Láolú's unique technique, which he also coined as the Sacred Art of the Orí is based on the Yoruba religious practice of becoming one with yourself or awakening the God in you (Orí). Láolú's influence creating this artistic approach came from his paternal Grandmother who strongly impacted his life and his Art.

Laolu Senbanjo's story started in Nigeria, where he was surrounded by the culture and mythology of the Yoruba, and brought him to law school, to New York and eventually to work on Beyoncé's "Lemonade." 2016年3月27日 · Laolu’s art–usually rendered in charcoal–is visually bold, consisting of strong lines that create organic shapes embedded with symbolism and imagery. He likes to depict stories which often include references to West African mythologies or representations of his environment.
