Long-term potentiation - Wikipedia
Long-term potentiation (LTP) is a persistent increase in synaptic strength following high-frequency stimulation of a chemical synapse. Studies of LTP are often carried out in slices of the hippocampus, an important organ for learning and memory. In such studies, electrical recordings are made from cells and plotted in a graph such as this one.
Molecular Mechanisms of Early and Late LTP - PubMed
LTP is the most intensively studied cellular model of the memory and generally divided at least two distinct phases as early and late. E-LTP requires activation of CaMKII that initiates biochemical events and trafficking of proteins, which eventually potentiate synaptic transmission, and is independ …

Molecular Mechanisms of Early and Late LTP - Springer
2018年12月6日 · LTP is the most intensively studied cellular model of the memory and generally divided at least two distinct phases as early and late. E-LTP requires activation of CaMKII that initiates biochemical events and trafficking of proteins, which eventually potentiate synaptic transmission, and is independent of de novo protein synthesis.
Late-phase long-term potentiation: getting to the nucleus
Long-term potentiation (LTP) is defined as a long-lasting increase in the magnitude of the synaptic response of a neuron following a short train of high-frequency afferent...
BDNF mechanisms in late LTP formation: A synthesis and breakdown
Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) has emerged as a regulator of stable, late phase long-term potentiation (L-LTP) at excitatory glutamatergic synapses in the adult brain. However, the mechanisms by which BDNF triggers L-LTP are controversial.
The late maintenance of hippocampal LTP: requirements, …
Our review focuses on the mechanisms which enable the late maintenance of hippocampal long-term potentiation (LTP; >3h), a phenomenon which is thought to underlie prolonged memory. About 20 years ago we showed for the first time that the maintenance of LTP - like memory storage--depends on intact …
