2021年1月24日 · NBN’s systems often show multiple NTD’s listed as being on site, however only one is really there. There is no way to line up which NTD is the real one – they don’t list any identifying feature in the NBN provisioning portal that we can tie up with what the customer can see on the box itself (e.g. the MAC address).

2023年10月3日 · I am with Launtel and have had intermittent internet access since last Thursday. It's a weird fault. The Arris NTD (HFC) shows all lights on, the Asus router (AX3300) usually shows it is connected to the internet but every few minutes the actual ability to access the internet drops out although all lights show no problem.

Keep in mind the latency for HFC connections is quite high compared to Fibre. Regardless of your ISP, the latency between your router and your ISP's backend will remain basically the same as it's managed by NBN.

Launtel's internet service uses nbn infrastructure over HFC (the old PayTV cable) technology to deliver broadband internet to your home. Depending on the speed you select, this service provides speeds of up to 1Gbps.

2023年12月28日 · 21/12 I had a nearby lightning strike, internet went offline, lodged a fault immediately. Have confirmed the NTD UNI-D1 ethernet port is non-responsive with multiple devices/patch cables. My RSP Launtel has been polite & responsive, but seems like there's endless delays with things being actioned.

2024年3月13日 · Try plug your pc into the ntd direct with a known working cable to see what you sync at. If it works, you know it’s something from the cable back to your router. If it syncs at 100mbps, problem with the ntd. Yep the appointment system sucks, the nbn system will see the ntd online and signal within spec and close the appointment.

2022年7月26日 · For the past few months, my NTD has been exhibiting a weird behaviour. After a while, maybe 2 days, maybe 3, it will begin to "slow down" but only on downloads. I have a 100/40, HFC connection with Aussie BB, What make/model modem or router are you using ?

2021年1月28日 · I can only surmise that he's had a bad personal experience with HFC and is using his supposed position of authority at Launtel to moan illogically about it. HFC is, generally speaking, pretty good. Significantly better than FTTN, and only a small step down from FTTP.
