Left Atrial Volume Index (LAVI) - MDApp
Left Atrial Volume Index (LAVI) has been found to correlate with mortality from cardiovascular disease and may be measured at the end-ventricular systole, when the Left Atrial is at its maxim size. Gender differences are then accounted for by indexing the volume to body surface area (BSA) via the Mosteller equation.
Reference (normal) values for echocardiography
Normal thickening (typically >30% thickening from end-diastole to end-systole). Recommended by American Society for Echocardiography (J Am Soc Echocardiogr 18:1440-1463, 2005). BSA, Body surface area; LV, left ventricular; 2D, 2-dimensional. 1.
Echocardiographic measurement of left atrial volume: Does the …
2015年12月1日 · Four two-dimensional echocardiographic methods (cube, ellipsoid, Simpson's and area-length) can be used to assess left atrial volume (LAV). To compare absolute LAV measurements and evaluate agreement regarding the semiquantitative assessment of degree of left atrial (LA) enlargement, between methods.
Normal Values of Left Atrial Volume in Pediatric Age Group Using …
2012年10月16日 · The comparison of absolute LAV measurement between two-dimensional transthoracic echocardiography (2D-TTE) and cardiac magnetic resonance showed a mean difference of 0.16 mL and excellent limits of agreement (−4.1 …
Left Atrial Volumes and Function by Three-Dimensional …
2016年7月13日 · Our study sought to (1) identify reference values for left atrial (LA) volumes and phasic function indices by 3-dimensional echocardiography (3DE) and compare them with those measured by 2-dimensional echocardiography (2DE) and (2) analyze their relationship with age, sex, body size, and left ventricular function.
Left Atrial Volume Index by Echocardiography—Improved, …
Left atrial volume index (LAVI) measured by echocardiography is a powerful predictive marker of diastolic dysfunction and mortality. Current cutoff values are based on normality in healthy populations (normal [≤34 mL/m2], mildly abnormal [35-41 mL/m2], moderately abnormal [42–48 mL/m2], and severely abnormal [>48 mL/m2]).
Echocardiographic Assessment of Left Atrial Volume Index in …
LAVi <28 ml/m 2 at rest predicts normal stress echocardiogram and LAVi > 32 ml/m 2 predicts mortality in patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI). LAVi (>50 ml/m 2) predicts HF hospitalization and mortality with similar statistical power as LVEF (< 45%) in ambulatory adults with coronary artery disease. Increased LA volume is also a ...
Normal ranges of left atrial volumes and ejection fraction by 3D ...
We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to provide reference ranges of LA maximum and minimum volumes indexed for body surface area (LAVi max and LAVi min, respectively), and LA-EF assessed by 3DE in healthy adults.
Measurement of left atrial volume from transthoracic three
LAV indexed to body surface area (LAVI) was measured using 2D and 3D echocardiography in 200 other subjects. LAV determination by 2D echocardiography was performed using the biplane Simpson's method.
Real-Time 3D Echocardiographic Quantification of Left Atrial …
2020年8月2日 · We studied in a multicenter setting the accuracy and reproducibility of 3-dimensional echocardiography (3DE)–derived measurements of left atrial volume (LAV) using new, dedicated volumetric software, side by side with 2-dimensional echocardiography (2DE), using cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging as a reference.
