The Lazy J J5 is based on a Tweed Champ, tweaked for more clarity and volume, with a 10" speaker. It has a volume control, VAC attenuator, and optional reverb (no tremolo). This circuit allows the user to reduce the output of the amp in an even sweep from full power down to less than 5 watts. However, this is not a master volume.

Now it's time to move it on and try something else. I previously owned a Fender '57 Custom Champ, and the Lazy J is a huge step up.

The J5 seems quite close on spec to the Victoria Vicky Verb Junior, but with a 10" speaker instead of a 12" speaker. I imagine the J10 will have a single 6L6 and 12" speaker? Not really …

I had a Cornell Romany Plus when I first tried my Lazy J. I bought the Lazy J and sold the Cornell. I've not tried a tweaked Tweed Deluxe from another UK maker, so that might be closer, but there was a very big difference between the Lazy J and the Cornell.
