2023年3月6日 · Zhang Yi Mou is one of my favorite directors with legendary hits like Hero and House of Flying Daggers. But an eSports TV drama seems so outside his usual milieu that I'm confused why they sought him of all possible directors. I'm really struggling to imagine what this show will end up looking like, but it has a chance of being incredible.

For those on the fence or have no knowledge of league of legends, give it a watch. The first 3 episodes are out and are each about 40 minutes. Sure there are references that might not make sense, but they do a phenomenal job fleshing it out for anyone that might not have a league background. Amazing writing, breathtaking animation, wonderful OST.

I watched the first episode. It was decent but felt honestly too realistic, like barely funnier/more dramatic than actual League of Legends. Like Carlos calling Perkz his son's favourite uncle and would never trade him away, then traded away Perkz, is basically the same level as this show.

2022年9月19日 · Riot Games, in an attempt to prove their hit Netflix show Arcane is not a fluke, recently released their first of hopefully many audiobooks: Ruination by Anthony Reynolds. A former League of Legends player and avid Arcane enjoyer, I eagerly purchased the audiobook this past weekend. Ten hours later, I could scarcely remember doing anything else.
