Located 35 miles from Washington DC, Leesburg Executive Airport is a designated reliever airport for Washington-Dulles International Airport. Leesburg Executive Airport has a 5,500 foot grooved asphalt runway with a 70,000-pound dual-wheel capacity.

On July 25, 2023, the Leesburg Town Council approved an agreement with the FAA that will allow for continued air traffic control operations at the Leesburg Executive Airport while the Town pursues the construction of a permanent tower as part of the FAA's Contract Tower Program.

The Leesburg Executive Airport terminal has a conference room which may be reserved by contacting the Airport Administration Office at 703-737-7125, Monday through Friday between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm.

In 1993, the Town of Leesburg took over direct control of the airport and began an aggressive growth campaign. The airport was renamed Leesburg Executive Airport at Godfrey Field in 2000, and is now home to nearly 300 private and corporate aircraft supporting some of the largest corporations in the world.
