2024年6月30日 · Managing a Blockage Where the Ureter Meets the Bladder. A ureterovesical junction (UVJ) obstruction is a blockage of the urinary tract at the junction where the ureter—the thin tube that drains urine from the kidney —joins the bladder. In most cases, UVJ obstruction is the result of a fetal defect that can be detected on a prenatal ultrasound.

Any kidney stone that is located in the ureter close to the bladder (within 1-2 cm of the bladder) is called a UVJ stone. This is the most common area for kidney stones to get stuck and cause symptoms because the UVJ is the narrowest point of the ureter. This leads to blockage in the flow of urine and dilation (swelling) of the kidneys and ureter.

Ureterovesical junction (UVJ) obstruction refers to a blockage to this area. The obstruction impedes the flow of urine down to the bladder, causing the urine to back up into and dilate the ureters and kidney (megaureter and hydronephrosis).

Stones that are less than 5 mm in size at UVJ have a good chance to pass spontaneously. In fact, as many as 90% of 1-5 mm UVJ stones can be passed with medical expulsion therapy (MET) by drinking fluids, taking pain medications and medications such as Flomax.

When a left-sided UVG is performed on 4-day old hatchlings (H4), the majority of animals show signs of recovery starting at 3 days after UVG when they can stand, eat, and drink (Aldrich and Peusner, 2002; Shao et al., 2009, 2012).

The UV lamp at left is a UVP Model UVG-54 Mineralight ® lamp, which emits light whose wavelength is 254 nm. The lamp at right is a Spectroline Model MB-100 super high intensity black light lamp, which emits light whose wavelength is 365 nm. Please note that the UV emissions from both of these lamps are not safe to look at directly.

2020年7月11日 · I run my UVG campaign with a hack of the GLOGlands hack (10 sessions so far). The difficulty in running UVG isn't the scene to scene or dungeon to dungeon system, it's keeping track of all the fiddly bits (travel rules, inventory, mercantile rules, etc) that really define the Oregon Trail aspect of the game.

2021年6月7日 · I had a false start running UVG, a bit like how you have described. I just read the book, dumped my players at the Violet City with a need to make some money, and gave them a few hooks for some methods to do so.
