2018年7月12日 · Jip, nice overview of the R8. One minor point regarding the viewfinder screens. Towards the end of the R9 production run, Leica introduced a new screen which was essentially the standard screen with added grid lines (that is, combining it with the grid screen).

2019年5月6日 · Good to know. I bought an R8 that came with the heavy motor drive R8 as a package; paid US$550 for the whole kit. I have sent it for a cell replacement with a fellow by the name of Manfred Wilhelm. I'm awaiting its return.

2006年11月11日 · Ich habe gelesen, daß Leica nach den anfänglichen Problemen (die sehr oft auch hochstilisiert wurden und meist erst bei Verwendung des Winders / Motordrives auftraten) alle frühen R8, denen sie noch habhaft werden konnten, zurück zu Mama gerufen hat um dort die Elektronik aufzufrischen.

2025年1月25日 · I got out my R8 and R9 just now (which have no batteries in at the moment) to try removal of the battery cover. What I think may happen is this: the natural inclination is to push into the cover to get a grip in order to slide it downwards, and this may in itself be distorting it a bit, thereby causing it to bind.

2009年10月24日 · New used R8 cameras are not that expensive, but the advantage of getting ones own repaired (even at the cost of the new used) is that you know and trust the camera, whereas a new used unit you don't. Link to post

2011年3月27日 · Just picked up a used Leica R8. Something seems odd. Put fresh batteries in the camera. When I power on the camera it is non-responsive. It will only turn on when I push down on the DOF lever by the lens. It also shuts down after 60 seconds of inactivity, and will only turn on again by pushing the DOF lever again. Is this normal for the R8?

2013年6月22日 · I don't have an R8 (yet), but use both the R versions of Summicron and Summilux 50s on other R bodies. I don't have the latest Summilux-R (takes 60mm filters) but overall I get better results (at the same aperture) with the late Summicron R than my lux - possibly because I hit focus better due to the focus screens I have.
