I love this meme so much -- it's possibly the best format to come out of 2020. I generally understand the meaning of it, but I'm specifically curious about its origins, and a cursory Google search doesn't yield a clear answer. It seems like Bilal didn't start the meme even though he was the drummer, so who created it?

2020年11月3日 · Here’s an older performance of Ievan Polka and another from 2018 that shows the transition between the original and the meme version. It seems like the original is supposed to be a funny song, so using it for memes is perfect.

2020年12月18日 · Answer: a new meme was made with a cat drumming on bongos with the song as background. This likely revived the interest in the song too. The reason it was chosen as the soundtrack is because there was an earlier meme of a "cat vibing to" a street drummer who was for whatever reason singing the song.

2020年8月8日 · There would be no chance for anyone to get it to even comprehensible levels, so FBK's meme will have to do. This because it is finnish karelian dialect, and there's lots of weirdness there. It would be possible to twist it into katakana to make it readable at least.
