Lin Xiangru (Chinese: 藺相如; pinyin: Lìn Xiāngrú) (died c.July 260 BCE [1]) was a politician and general of the Warring States period, who served the state of Zhao.

Lin Xiangru, a man of Zhao, was the steward of Miao Xian, the chief eunuch. King Huiwen had come into possession of the jade of Bian He, a man of Chu.

2021年9月4日 · Zhao sent Lin Xiangru, the “hanger-on” of the eunuch Miuxian, to go to Qin State with He Shi Bi as envoy. With tremendous courage and wisdom, Lin Xiangru returned to Zhao State with He Shi Bi intact, winning a diplomatic victory over Qin State. Later, Qin State invaded Zhao State and captured Shicheng.

Lin Xiangru saw Lian Po come to ask for forgiveness with the branch on his back and he quickly went out to greet him enthusiastically. 从此以后，他们俩成了好朋友，同心协力保卫赵国。 From that day onward, they became good friends and worked in tandem to protect Zhao Empire.

This grass-style Chinese calligraphy titled Biographies of Lian Po and Lin Xiangru was written by the famous calligrapher Huang Tingjian (1045–1105) in the Northern Song dynasty (960–1127). The overall handscroll [1] is 34.3 cm in height and 2,178.4 cm in length and contains 652 identifiable Chinese characters.

2025年1月26日 · Lin Xiangru, a strategic and cunning diplomat from the Zhao state, was sent to negotiate with the rival state of Yan. During these tense negotiations, he was presented with a beautiful jade pendant that was a symbol of authority and power.

2015年3月2日 · Lin Xiangru, relying on great wisdom and courage, managed to leave Qin and return the precious jade intact to Zhao. It is said that after Qin conquered all the other warring states and united China in 221 BC, He Shi Bi was made into the Imperial Seal of China by Qin Shi Huang and became an emblem of the emperor’s supreme power.
