2021年11月30日 · Chester once mentioned Given Up again in 2017 a few months before he died too and said that when he wrote Given Up in 2006, he was saying he wanted to die but would try and fight or something like that but when he wrote Heavy in 2016 he wanted to die and would just lay in a corner and accept it. You can find it online somewhere. Pretty dark stuff.

2023年5月10日 · I mean Papercut has an intro that any fan would immediately know. Forward starts and you’re aware of what’s to come next. With Given Up, it’s like taking a page from both the first albums. It’s hard to explain but Given Up is a good song that started MTM well because you weren’t sure what to expect.

2018年4月19日 · AOL Sessions Given Up has always been one of my favorite vocal performances! Most people don’t realize there is also a ton of delay on that scream live all the time. It’s too bad LP live recording were so heavily edited. Was always curious if the raw Live In Texas shows ever popped up after I stopped falling LP near end of M2M era.

2023年10月6日 · I mean honestly though probably half of Minutes to Midnight has better vocals than Given Up is my guess, but I never really thought to much about it. Breath control is way more impressive on Breaking The Habit than Given Up as well. That song is just nonstop vocal. Chester always struggled way more with Crawling than Given Up.

2022年5月28日 · Songs like Given Up, Numb, I’ll be Gone do feel like Chester’s contribution. At the times of the release, I couldn’t much understand the lyrics, but now, after depression hit me, I do feel that Chester was feeling depressed writing those songs. Wish we could’ve helped him, imagine him writing songs for the next Linkin Park album.

2020年8月18日 · Lyric wise nothing Linkin Park has ever recorded has really “wow”ed me (with the exception of Carousel and Part of Me), but Fort Minor on the other hand has some great stuff spread between We Major and The Rising Tied. There are even some spots on the first half of Post Traumatic I remember thinking “wow” when I heard it.
