2021年2月6日 · MBR and GPT are attributes of a disk (e.g. /dev/sda) not a partition (e.g. /dev/sda1). You can't set an individual partition to be GPT, as in your question; you have to set the whole disk to be MBR or GPT. Changing this is an inherently risky procedure. Don't rely on the fact that someone, somewhere on the Internet, managed it successfully.

Stick with Linux if you can and use either gdisk or fdisk to create your partition table. –

The util-linux partitioning tools (including sfdisk) were rewritten to include GPT support for util-linux 2.26. sfdisk differs from gdisk in that it doesn't support putting a small boot partition before 1MiB, though, so it choked on my config. (bug reported upstream already.) –

2021年9月18日 · Either MBR or GPT would work. MBR is limited to 4 partitions... but due to a bug in Microsoft's Windows updaters, major Windows updates tend to wipe out MBR Linux partitions and GRUB (on single-drive installations). MBR tends to be used on older BIOS computers.

2016年3月18日 · The reason for Ubuntu not displaying GPT partitions was becuase the installer was loading in BIOS mode. To view and edit/create/delete gpt partitions on a UEFI system, ubuntu installer must be loaded in UEFI mode. I followed the instructions on Ubuntu's Community Page and selected my USB as the UEFI version and installer displayed the partitions.
