The president of the Republic of Lithuania (Lithuanian: Lietuvos Respublikos Prezidentas) is the head of state of the Republic of Lithuania. The president directs and appoints the executive branch of the Government of Lithuania, represents the nation internationally and is the commander-in-chief of the Lithuanian Armed Forces.

Gitanas Nausėda (/ ɡ ɪ ˈ t ɑː n ə s n aʊ ˈ s ɛ d ə /; Lithuanian: [ɡʲɪˈtˠɐnˠɐs nˠɐʊˈsʲeːdˠɐ]; born 19 May 1964) is a Lithuanian politician, economist, and banker who is serving as the ninth and incumbent president of Lithuania since 2019.

Currently, the head of state is the President of Lithuania. The Gediminids-Jagiellonians ruled medieval Lithuania. During the inaugurations of Lithuanian monarchs until 1569, the Gediminas' Cap was placed on the monarch's heads by the Bishop of Vilnius in Vilnius Cathedral .

President Gitanas Nausėda continues to participate in the European Council meeting in Brussels, where the leaders focused on the role of the European Union in the world, migration issues, and the situations in the Middle East and Georgia.
