2023年2月9日 · So a while back, I got a strange little NW2 painted in Great Northern black. Initially, I thought it was Revell, but after close examination. It’s clear that it’s a well-done kitbash of a bluebox SW7. It had been given a little snowplow and had its grille modified.

If your engine either: 1) has a wobble when it runs 2) has a wheel that doesn't turn under load or 3) can by spun manually by hand with the engine stopped, you likely have a cracked axle gear assembly. See below for an example: (Note: NW2 axles only have non-traction tire axles and do not have bronze friction bearings as the examples show below.)

2014年2月14日 · Lionel made essentially two types of NW series switchers between the late 40s and late 60s. The early ones were closer to an NW2, but Lionel replaced them with cheaper switchers in 1955 and still called them NW2s.
