2021年2月17日 · 69001 will be at the Severn Valley Railway until approximately 12th March 2021. Additionally, some driver training will be completed whilst it is at the railway. Once the test runs and driver training is complete, the locomotive will head back to Longport for additional testing, before heading for painting in April.

GBRf will work on getting 69001 type-tested, but once it has completed its stint at the SVR it will move to Eastleigh Works, where it will join 69002, with Arlington Fleet Services contracted to repaint the ten locomotives.

69001 is the first of class, named after the Mayflower which took the founding fathers from Plymouth, England, to Cape Cod in 1620. The naming commemorates the joint work by the British freight haulier GBRf and the company that converted the locomotive, Progress Rail, a subsidiary of the US corporation Caterpillar.
