Nestled on three acres, Log Cabin Village consists of nine historic structures dating back to the mid-1800s. Texas history comes to life through the authentic log homes and artifacts, blacksmith shop, one-room schoolhouse, smokehouse, water-powered gristmill and herb garden.

There is nothing not to like about the Log Cabin Village - hidden by trees and overshadowed by the nationally acclaimed Fort Worth Zoo across the street. Behind its wooden facade, there is a voyage into the past of Fort Worth and Texas. It is extremely cheap ($2), includes re-enactments and sponsors children activities.

Step back into the late 1800s to experience aspects of the Texas pioneer era with us during a special story time at the Log Cabin Village. Enjoy stories, songs and other activities designed for children of all ages and their grown-ups.

The Van Zandt Cottage is owned by the City of Fort Worth's Park and Recreation Department and operated by Log Cabin Village. It is Village's only off-site facility. The Cottage is a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
