2022年10月18日 · New flood mapping for the Logan and Albert rivers south of Brisbane has been released six months after floods swamped more than 250 homes in Logan. Logan City Council commissioned an updated hydrological model for the rivers and Slacks and Scrubby creeks catchments in 2019, and released the upgraded predictions for individual properties on Monday.

Flood maps are one tool that communities use to know which areas have the highest risk of flooding. FEMA maintains and updates data through flood maps and risk assessments. Flood maps show how likely it is for an area to flood. Any place with a 1% chance or higher chance of experiencing a flood each year is considered to have a high risk.

Flooding occurs when the water levels in our creeks and rivers overtop the banks and spill out into the floodplain areas surrounding the natural waterways.
