2021年1月9日 · I have a Modulus Flea 5 which is a 34" scale bass. I use a D'Adarrio long scale set for this bass. I also have Modulus Genesis 5 which is a 35" scale bass. I use a D'Adarrio super long scale set for this bass. If you have a 34" scale bass, I think top load and string-through would definitely make a difference.

2009年6月5日 · Tom - are you confusing the scale length with the number of frets? The scale length is the (nominal) distance from the bridge saddles to the nut. Standard "long scale" basses are 34" (some go to 35" or 36", which could be called "extra long"). Medium scale basses are around 32-34" and short scale 30-32".

2011年3月12日 · On that note, why not do the blind test with a long scale and medium scale Stu Hamm? That would work fine as long as all things were reasonably equal. Let me support my position. When Keith Roscoe finished my first 32" scale bass he was overwhelmed with how amazing the bass sounded the first time he plugged it in.

2022年12月24日 · I would do this as a kid. Back then, we didn't always have short-scale strings available at my mom-and-pop music shops. When I had a short-scale bass I would use long scale strings.

2017年7月12日 · "Super-long" scale strings on "long" scale bass (I hope this link works, I'm new to posting here on TB so my shortcut skills may be off) I put Super-Long scale strings on my 34" scale bass. I went through this because I wanted to try half-wound strings and the store only had a 5 string set in this scale length.

2015年7月19日 · The tension will be no different than regular long scale strings; the speaking length (between the nut and bridge saddles) won't change. I've never put super long strings on a long scale bass, but I've put long scale strings on a short scale bass more than once - which amounts to the same thing.
