How to raise pH? - General Discussion - Nano-Reef Community
2015年8月8日 · Many houses are well sealed and have higher CO2 than outside air. This wil cause lower pH. By bringing in fresh air to the water through the skimmer, it will help bring it up. Having a refugium on an opposite light cycle to the display tank can also help. You can do it chemically but most people advise avoiding chasing pH.
Chemi Pure raise PH? - Beginners Discussion - Nano-Reef …
2008年4月29日 · After adding an additional 65 mL, the pH dropped to 8.04. These data serve as the basis for the recommendation that I make later in this article of using 6 mL of soda water per gallon of aquarium water to achieve a pH drop of about 0.3 pH units. Adding vinegar is another option for reducing pH. It has two actions that lower the pH.
2-Part vs Kalkwasser - Water Chemistry - Nano-Reef Community
2013年7月13日 · However, if you feel that the concentration of CO 2 in a room will not cause more CO 2 to be in an open container of water (with a subsequently lower pH), like an aquarium (as was pointed out before in that example), then I can assume you aren't a fan of the law of partial pressures, Henry's law and equilibria.
Low PH- 7.6 - Water Chemistry - Nano-Reef Community
2017年11月26日 · Ph is actually lower in my new tank, perhaps because it doesn't have a skimmer (yet), perhaps because the new apartment that i moved into has more of a CO2 problem than the old house and old tank had, or maybe there's another issue.
Baking soda as a buffer? - Nano-Reef Community
2010年6月22日 · Oh I see. I didn't know it would actually lower the PH. So just bake some baking soda, add 2 cups to a gallon of RO water and then use that to dose the tank or ATO reservoir? I've read some articles about mixing in calcium with the baking soda or ash, but I have good calcium. It's just that the salt I just got is mixing up at 5-6 dkh.

Pulsing xenia not pulsing - Coral Forum - Nano-Reef Community
2014年4月10日 · I have tried in two different tanks over the years with no luck. I've purchased frags that pulsed like crazy at the LFS only to stop within hours of being placed in my tanks. I have tried with higher and lower ALK and pH levels as well as flow and salinity….even nutrasea water vs salt mix and I've basically given up.
salt wont dissolve! - Water Chemistry - Nano-Reef Community
2009年11月25日 · It will drastically lower pH though and you'll need to aerate (as someone mentioned) to raise it back up. The salt is fine, but if it is indeed calcium you'll test low and corals won't like that. I had this same problem with some old salt I picked up on craigslist.
Is this how phosguard affects Ca and pH? - Nano-Reef Community
2015年6月8日 · After 48 hours my pH had dropped to 8.0 and Calcium went up to 520. I could throw out more numbers but essentially, my pH is staying low despite 2 doses of buffering. My theory is that the phosphate binding to calcium (as calcium phosphate) is being removed by the phosguard, releasing ionic Ca into the water.
How to keep steady PH - Water Chemistry - Nano-Reef Community
2012年7月18日 · Some tanks just have a lower PH than the "optimal" value of 8.1-8.2, hence why drip acclimation is usually the answer to preventing sudden death when adding a new critter. Yours isn't THAT far off the mark... chasing it with dosing/buffering chemicals will just make stability harder to achieve and could induce other problems down the line with ...
