Jesus’ instruction is very simple: he tells his disciples that they need to “be prepared.” However, the event they need to be prepared for is the hour when the “Son of Man” will come.

The one in charge slipped up and the thief did break into the house. The message is clear, that the kingdom of God has broken into our house and the Christ has come.

He was blessed not because he just happened to be about his duties coincidentally at the very time his master returned but because he was always about his duties.
