2001年5月3日 · The Swedish shipbuilding company, Kockums (formerly Karlskronavarvet) has constructed seven Landsort Class minehunters. The ship has two Saab Systems Philax decoy launchers capable of dispensing chaff and infrared flares, and a Matilda radar warning system.

Minröjningsfartyg typ Koster är en modern minröjningsfartygs-serie om fem fartyg, tidigare sju som Landsorts-klass. Fartygen har funnits i den svenska flottan sedan 1986 och är vårt främsta försvar mot sjöminor, men kan även operera i ett antal andra roller. Fartygen har en besättning på 28 man, varav 14 är sjömän och 14 är officerare.

Landsort is a successful class of coastal Minesweeper, Minehunting and anti-submarine vessels designed and built by Kockums AB, a subsidiary of HDW group, in Karlskrona for Sweden and Singapore. In fact, they were conceived as multi-purpose vessels capable of individual and/or tactical command operation modes.

These ships were from an original class of seven units. 2005年5月10日 · The upgrade includes improved command systems, weapon systems and sonars, new air defence systems and a Remotely Operated underwater Vehicle (ROV) with a minehunting capability. Work began in May 2005 on HMS Koster, to be followed by HMS Vinga and Ulvon then Landsort and Arholma. HMS Koster is scheduled for re-launch by the end of 2007.
