If Apple decides, for instance to make having ProRes Encode/Decode engines a requirement for the operating system due to a fundamental feature, then you might see M1 Macs dropped, while M1 Pro, M1 Max, M1 Ultra, M2, M2 Pro, M2 Max, and newer keep support.

2008年2月11日 · The M1 is just fine if you’re on a tight budget. Anything with a M in it is going to be more than powerful enough for general computing. Even the base model M1 will work. I have a family member that still uses the original base M1 Air with the 7 core GPU. It works like a charm. What I would consider, though is look at the M2 Air.

Afaik there is a plenty of 65-70% battery capacity MB 2015-2017 just because of cramped hardware and entirely fanless design, so temperatures as a factor.

It would also appear to make sense for sustained loads to use the MBA in clamshell mode, upside side down to better dissipate the heat spread to the lower case.
