The M106 mortar carrier (full designation: Carrier, Mortar, 107 mm, Self-propelled) was a tracked, self-propelled mortar carrier in service with the United States Army. It was designed to provide indirect fire support to primarily infantry, units, but could also provide support to any unit under attack within range.

For many years the US Army deployed two self-propelled mortar (SPM) based on a modified BAE Systems, Ground Systems Division M113 series full tracked armoured personnel carrier (APC). These were the 4.2 inch (107 mm) M106/M106A1/M106A2 and the 81 mm M125/M125A1/M125A2.

2001年5月19日 · The M106A1 was an M106 driven by the powerplant from the M113A1 APC, and the carrier vehicle also formed the basis of the M125A1 81mm self-propelled mortar. Ammunition stowage was modified to 88 rounds: 63 stowed on the right side in horizontal racks and 25 in vertical racks on the left side in front of the fuel compartment.
