2021年2月21日 · So, I reached out to a few different sellers on FB & CL this past week, and took a 200+ mile round trip earlier today to see a few M1101, 02, and M116A3 trailers today up in rural PA and MD. OMG, the M1101 & 2 were just enormous in size, not that the Excursion would have any trouble pulling these trailers even when fully loaded.

2014年11月8日 · I just picked up a slightly modified M116A3. The tongue has been modified to just accept a 2" receiver. No more pintel, brakes, etc. That is a good thing for me. I am going to use a Max Coupler with this trailer. I am planning on building a 32" high box on the platform and use this as an off road trailer with an RTT on top.

2009年5月1日 · I then did the Google search and it showed this configuration as a M116A3 including the lifting loops. The doc I found apparently was a "bid" configuration for production and not the final product. Personally, other than the surge brakes, I prefer the looks of the 101A1 in the above photos.

2021年2月21日 · After unsuccessfully trying to convince my wife that she could learn to comfortably drive the Excursion while on trips, I have decided to sell it. It will be replaced by a 2001 Lexus LX450 that I made a deal on this morning. This also means that some of the pans that I had for the M116A3 trailer will also be changing.

I'm building a 3D model to develop a layout, and have some fun ideas for the build, but I can't seem to find any decent dimensions for the trailer (frame, bed, fenders, etc ...

2014年6月12日 · The raised axle is a nice match to the portals of the Pinz ( as the M116A3 is to the HMMWV) The surge brakes is just a nice plus, but not necessary with the 6 wheel disc brakes of my Pinz. My M116A3 actually has a narrower A2 bed (no fender extentions), so the tires and wheels will tuck nicely under the fenders

2020年3月19日 · Here is the original handle that came with my M116A3 based HSTRU trailer. They are pretty simple, and would be easy to replicate, I think. I can measure it up for you later today (a frog strangling rain was beginning as I headed back to the house with the pictures!) 2017年5月31日 · M116A3 Trailer Prep for some cuts needed for the Command Box Did some cut out lines on where I have to make some cuts. Willhave to cut 2” off the inside of the wheel wells and cut 16.5” off the backrail for a pullout table that sits under the back section of the command boxwhich works out because I need to add 5.5” to the front of the trailer

2021年6月16日 · adapters are needed if you are going to use the original hubs. aluminum factory jeep wheels have a small hub hole and will need wider adapters to fit. if you go with a new axle idler or electric breaks you may still need a spacer for the hub to clear.
