Oct 21, 2019 · This pistol has a lowered ejection port. Otherwise it's nearly a perfect clone of the post 1924 M1911A1 and does not have the firing pin block. Inland Manufacturing makes a near perfect 1911 clone, the ILM1911. It is perfect in appearance but mechanically its not true to the original because it has the series 80 firing pin block.

Apr 12, 2016 · For what I can recall I remember having seen several RR slides a bit darker than the frames but not the opposite, but surely you in the States see more 1911s than me; then it looks as if some sort of adhesive tape was put along that slide, at least I would try to clean it properly first, and in the end I would not exclude that the slide doesn't belong to the frame.

Mar 18, 2012 · I don't know if Colt is planning on making any more vintage reproductions, but I strongly feel that the success of the O1911/O1918 WW1 Replicas could easily lead to a newer, better M1911A1 reproduction. The pre-WW2 blued 'A1s were some of the most gorgeous pistols Colt ever made, with their checkered parts and brushed blue finish.

Jul 28, 2022 · *Ithaca was supplied with 7,000 unfinished new Colt M1911A1 frames and 2,200 Colt in late 1942, prior to their manufacturing of the pistol in 1943. These frames can be identified by the long frame extension/tang in the area of the grip safety, which was unique to Colt-manufactured M1911 and M1911A1 frames (books by Clawson, Meadows).
