2023年7月31日 · In a SHTF type scenario a more longer lasting and durable design that doesn’t require the kind of maintenance the m14 can would be a better choice. For home defense, a smaller weapon in a lighter caliber, ideally suppressed, would be a better choice.

So, to keep an M1A super accurate, you give up field maintenence to some degree, and you have to keep up with it over time. If it's not super accurate, you can keep it running easier, but then the need for a scope lessens.
