Originally, this aircraft was a light business jet that was produced after the discontinuation of the Citation I. The original CitationJet model, which was later dubbed the CJ1, was produced from 1993 to 2011.

Powered by two Williams FJ44-1AP-21 turbofan engines, the Cessna Citation M2 can reach a maximum cruise speed of 404 knots (466 mph) and offers a range of approximately 1,550 nautical miles.
