Oct 22, 2008 · Re: US M24 SWS clone build/rebuild ?s M-24 was set-up to be a 308. The army went with the long action because they wanted to eventually convert them to 300 Win Mag. This would be able to be done since it was a long action. Some were. As for the barrel, the first ones we were issued had the rock barrels. Later they went the REM 5R barrel.

Dec 17, 2004 · I've asked the site moderators in the M24 build thread if it's possible to start documenting the serial #'s of the rifles and scopes attributed to original US Army M24 SWS rifles. This is a subject that is long past due. The rebuild program of the M24 into M2010 has already produced replicas by Remington using original parts kits.
