2014年8月20日 · The poorest performing ITB is a simplified model of the S50 ITBs on the M42 ports. After a bit more back and forth with the engineer, he decided that he wants to make a properly engineered bolt-on kit for the M42/4 engines that will accommodate all the vacuum lines, have the correct dimensions, dyno charts to prove its efficacy and be affordable.

Installing a standalone ECU is recommended however this kit has been very successfully installed and used with the original engine management system with little to no modification needed. To install and set up this kit correctly you will need a basic understanding of mechanical devices and the appropriate mechanics tools.

2019年11月7日 · While I love an M42, the M10 does seem to make great numbers with "bolt ons," whereas the M42 seems to need more fine tuning. I have a built M10 in the car now, fresh build with the ITBs, forged 9.5, 292 cam etc.

The main difference between two motors is the fact that new version has more efficient aluminum 16-valve cylinder head. It uses two camshafts as well as optimized combustion chambers. M42 is still equipped with hydraulic lifters.

2016年10月27日 · the m42 with ITB kit and a chip tune would easily trump a stock m20b25....hoping for 150whp with the ITB kit, chip tune and 7lb RHD flywheel. I'd be impressed if you actually get the ~150 +/-5whp that stock 325s tend to put down out of ITBs and a tune on the M42, without using an overly optimistic dyno.
