Czech vz.52/57 Rifle In the early 1950's the Russians and the Warsaw Pact countries adopted the SKS 7.62x39mm carbine. However, Czechoslovakia elected to field the vz.52 rifle in 7.62x45mm claiming that the 7.62x45mm has superior ballistics that the Soviet M43 cartridge.

The LMG could use a 25-round detachable magazine or a 50-round belt feeder and retained features from WWII-era ZB vz. 30 models. Das vz. 52 (mit vollem Namen: lehký kulomet vzor 52, auf Deutsch: leichtes Maschinengewehr Modell 52) war eine tschechoslowakische Infanteriewaffe. Mit diesem Maschinengewehr fuhren die tschechischen Konstrukteure dort fort, wo sie vor dem Zweiten Weltkrieg gezwungenermaßen aufhören mussten.
