The M4A3E4 was an M4A3 (75) Wet Stowage with VVSS up-gunned with a 76mm. Note that while most or all of the M4A1s would have had "small hatches", the specific mention of "Wet Stowage" indicates that the M4A3s would have been of 1944 production, and therefore equipped with large hatches.

When it was, it became the preferred US Army version of the tank in both the 75mm and 76mm armed tanks. It would see all the improvements, and be the first hull type to take the HVSS suspension system into combat for the US Army. It would be produced in three factories with all turret types, 12,596 built in total between June 42 and June of 45.

As founded by the United States, Denmark had three options in tanks: M4A3 Sherman, M47 and M48. Denmark had the M48 in favour, but because of not being the most important recipient, United States wanted Denmark to have the Sherman.

2023年7月20日 · Following the end of Soviet tank deliveries in 1948, the Yugoslav People’s Army (JNA) received 599 M4A3E4 Sherman tanks as part of the Mutual Defense Aid Program (MDAP) from the United States. These tanks were essentially M4A3 (75) Shermans with wet ammo stowage and VVSS suspension up-gunned with 76 mm M1A1 guns.
