2022年12月23日 · An eight-car Class 101 DMU formation departs Glasgow Central on Sunday 30 July 2000. It is an empty stock move during their transfer from Corkerhill to Longsight depot. The vehicles are 51509 (out of sight to the left) + 51187(partially seen) (101684), 51247 + 51512 (101687), 51192 + 53266 (101693) and 53253 + 53170 (101692).

Here is one such combination, a class 101 DMU formed of M51192 and M56352 waits with the 11.20 Sheringham to Holt whilst 0-6-0 GER Y12 564 is ready with the 11.25 Holt to Sheringham. After the noisy activity and the two trains have departed, peace and tranquility returns to this delightfully restored rural station.

M51192 leads M56352 away from Weybourne station working the 11.15 Sheringham to Holt train. First-generation DMUs are the mainstay of many heritage lines being relatively cheap, convenient and easy to operate whilst at the same time being sufficiently, for want of a better word, 'quaint' in the eyes of the visiting public.

Having run up to Holt, the class 101 DMU composed of M56352 and M51192 pause at Weybourne's platform two with the 12.15 Holt to Sheringham. The more observant will notice that the unit is running 'wrong line'. This is because in the other direction, the Sunday North Norfolkman dining train is running and it uses platform one also running 'wrong ...

56352 returned to service in 2021 after open stock and DMU services were reintroduced. The vehicle had a particularly busy July & August, as following record passenger numbers, for the first time the railway's summer holiday timetable (which has two late afternoon DMU trips) was booked as a 4-car set rather than the usual two.
