The M777 howitzer is a British towed 155 mm artillery piece in the howitzer class. It is used by the ground forces of Australia, Canada, Colombia, India, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, and the United States. It was first used in combat during the War in Afghanistan. The M777 is manufactured by BAE Systems' Global Combat Systems division.

Selected by the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army as their next-generation Medium Force weapon, designated M777, the gun has undergone an engineering and manufacturing development program in the U.S. leading to an initial contract for 94 guns in November 2002.

Initially developed for the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Army as their next generation Medium Force weapon, the M777 has become the benchmark for 155mm Lightweight Towed Artillery Systems. To date, the system has been selected by U.S., Canadian, Australian, and Indian forces, with total orders currently exceeding 1,200.

The M777 Lightweight 155mm howitzer provides timely, accurate and continuous firepower in support of Marine and Army infantry forces and replaces the M198 towed Howitzer.
