M83 (French pronunciation: [ɛm katʁ (ə)vɛ̃tʁwɑ]) is a French electronic music group formed in Antibes in 1999. Initially the duo of multi-instrumentalists Nicolas Fromageau and Anthony Gonzalez, Fromageau parted ways shortly after touring for their second album Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts. [9] .

He is best known for his work with artists such as Beck, Nine Inch Nails, M83, Air, and St. Vincent. Meldal-Johnsen served as the touring bassist, guitarist, and keyboardist for Nine Inch Nails in 2008 and 2009, and was Beck's bassist and musical director from 1996 until mid-2016.

Watch M83 perform and you will see a band much like any other - with two guitarists, a bassist, a drummer and a synth player. But the band, in its present-day form, is entirely Anthony Gonzalez' brainchild.
