Not my first car, but I bought my 1st Miata in 1999. Followed by a 2003, another 1997, and then a 2006. In 2020 I bought a BMW M240iX convertible. I miss my Miata every day. But, I have grandchildren now and my kids won't let me take the grandchildren for a ride if there isn't a back seat. The long road trips in a Miata never bothered me.

2010年3月8日 · Suspension and hubs: The ideal would be if one of Mazda's FWD cars had the same hub geometry as the miata but this is extremely unlikely. Another option would be making a new custom hub (I have CAD and CNC access) that would keep the same points but I don't think the scrub radius would leave enough room for the CV to fit.

2010年3月8日 · The Miata's power antenna mast is a routine replacement part. When converting to a fixed antenna there are some good reasons to do so with the OEM one. For a 1996 Miata, the Miata's fixed antenna easily replaces the entire power antenna unit, at least for those made for a 1992-1997 Miata.

2010年3月8日 · It's possible (probable?) that the Dorman cross reference is wrong, and that the Miata washer should be a different p/n. In fact going to the Dorman website now lists a pair of drain plug gasket numbers: 095-016 and 095-149. Both have a 0.72 in ID, but the 016 has an OD of 1.06 (2.03 mm thick), whereas the 149 has an OD of 0.937 in (1.75 mm thick).

2010年3月8日 · Beyond that, the gains to be had from ANY ECU modification on an otherwise stock Miata are not dramatic, presupposing that one will be running pump gas, driving on the street, etc. Probably 95% or more of the "serious" ECU work done on the Miata is in support of a forced-induction system. Matt, as usual, is on the ball.
