The US Standard Light Rail Vehicle (SLRV) was a light rail vehicle (LRV) built by Boeing Vertol in the 1970s. The Urban Mass Transportation Administration (UMTA) of the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) promoted it as a standardized vehicle for U.S. cities.

The Type 10 LRV is a future class of low-floor light rail vehicles, to be manufactured by Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles (CAF) for the MBTA Green Line in Greater Boston, Massachusetts. The Type 10 cars are 54% longer than the existing rolling stock of the Green Line, and will be equipped with new safety and accessibility features.

The MBTA released a request for proposals in December 2019, with notice to proceed expected to be given in 2021. In June 2021, the MBTA indicated that the initial order would be for 102 LRVs operating as single cars, with two-car trains deferred for a later project with federal funding.

Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority 3900-3923, collectively known as Type 9, are light rail vehicles (LRVs) built by CAF USA between 2018 and 2019. The ninth generation LRVs were used to facilitate the extension of the MBTA's Green Line. A Request for Proposals (RFP) for 24 new Green Line LRVs was issued in 2011.

2022年9月2日 · USA: The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority board has awarded CAF USA a contract to supply 102 light rail vehicles for Boston’s Green Line. The base contract approved on August 31 is worth $811m, including the 102 Type 10 Supercar LRVs, two driving simulators, spare parts, tools, test equipment and a three-year warranty.

--UMTA reviews the adequacy of MBTA's LRV management and operations for assuring that the delivered LRVs achieve their intended design life. UMTA should identify and require MBTA to implement the necessary improvements.
