Unlike a typical 636, this console has all vari-Q upgraded strips (the 636 could be ordered with these more expensive/extensive eqs if you were ready to pull out your checkbook). As well, this particular desk has the red mic level patchbay which you'll hardly ever see.

JH600 Series meter options: There are two types of metering on either the JH636 or the JH652. Standard VU meters with VU ballistics or 100 segment light meters that are vacuum florescent (not lightbulbs). The LM meters read either peak ballistics or DC level for the automated faders.

2008年7月12日 · Standard 5534 opamps are found in the 636, the 3036 has a bunch of epoxy dipped "hybrid" modules of which there are no spares. Some include small electrolytic caps which ought to be expired by now. If you pop one, you will need to pilfer one from another module. This design therefore has an uncertain future despite 3rd party support.

2005年5月23日 · Good ones seem to be $6-8K. I have not seen any that are in lesser shape. The 600 runs pretty hot and cooks the electrolytic capacitors in the signal path. Be sure any desk you're looking at has be recently recapped, preferably with 105 degree C caps.

2007年11月15日 · I highly recommend the MCI 636, especially if it's got automation. It's one of the good sounding affordable vintage 80's consoles, and somewhat easy to maintain. Thousands of great sounding recordings were done on them in the 80's and 90's.
