2021年4月11日 · The chance of finding just the front nose for WW2 is close to zero, but not zero. If you wait long enough you'll find a complete front end, albeit with the nose (bearing) torched. The WW2 rear parts do come up; they run $600 - $1000 (or more!) right now. If you're serious about it you'll want to match the rear (mfg & date) with the front.

2013年8月22日 · Work started off by adding a replacement MG42 nose shroud/muzzle piece. I got the new build receiver halves from Brian at BRP Guns. All the needed cuts were measured off with a micrometer and work started on cutting all those out.

MG42 that had a nose failure. New nose welded look at other repairs.

2024年7月8日 · The receiver sections were built as a dummy with no care so making it live again has been a challenge. Tweaks here and warped sections and mismatched sections from MG42 and M53 receivers. The nose had to come off due to over penetration of the receiver bushing causing barrel bushing not to fit. Finally got the rails fit to it this week.

2007年3月9日 · After I took the photo, I adjusted the location of the bearing to match the 74mm dimension in the Sticky, and it made my bushing protrusion match the dimension that I was given of an un-cut MG 42. I personally think that how far the bushing sticks into the recoil nozzle is more important than the exact overall length of the reciever.

For example, I'm finding a top cover for an MG3, but seeing it listed with MG42 in the product details. Does that mean I can use 8mm parts or is it only a 7.62 NATO compatible part?

2005年4月5日 · For what you want to do, I guess that if your barrel-jackets already have a "good" barrel-stop installed..... and you use a standard length MG42/MG3 Barrel-Assembly.....you could locate the bushings and "weld-away" after insuring the Bushing is located correctly for the Barrel-Bearings that you will use.
