Objectives: This study evaluated and compared the effect of silver diamine fluoride (SDF) and silver-modified atraumatic restorative treatment (SMART) sealants for the treatment of initial carious lesions of permanent molars affected by molar incisor hypomineralization (MIH).

The study found that both silver diamine fluoride (SDF) application alone and SDF followed by Hybrid Glass Ionomer Cement (SMART) sealants were effective in treating MIH-affected molars, with reasonable retention rates and desensitization.
