The MIT mail system provides mail routing services among MIT mail users, between MIT mail users and users of other mail systems inside or outside MIT, and supports mailing lists sponsored by MIT users that comply with the MIT's policies on use of the MIT network.

Your MIT Kerberos account (sometimes called an Athena/MIT/email account) is your online identity at MIT. Once you set up your account, you will be able to access your MIT email, educational technology discounts, your records, printing services, and much more.

You can login to your MIT email account using your Kerberos credentials through a browser or an email app. IS&T recommends Microsoft Outlook, which is part of the free Microsoft Office bundle available to all MIT students.
