Pembangunan konstruksi fase 1 proyek kereta Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Jakarta dimulai pada 10 Oktober 2013 ditandai dengan peletakan batu pertama oleh Presiden RI Joko Widodo. Pada koridor 1 ini, telah dibangun jalur kereta sepanjang 16 kilometer yang meliputi 10 kilometer jalur layang dan enam kilometer jalur bawah tanah.
