2008年4月3日 · Ive never owned a 270,but I have owned 2 280s.For an extra $45,buy the 280.More power than the 270 and faster chain speed than the 290.Less weight than the 290 to.As far as the quick chain adjuster goes,it does ok.I pinched my 361 with the QCA and couldnt get the bar and chain off because I couldnt budge the adjuster wheel.But with the tool less fuel and oil caps,and the QCA,it is kinda nice ...

2008年12月13日 · My MS-290 came with a 20" bar. The dealer *hinted* than an 18" bar was optimal for this saw. The two things I notice with the 20" bar is that the saw could use just a bit more power to run it, and that IMO the oiler doesn't put out enough to keep the bar/chain happy. Today I picked up an 18" bar in hopes of optomizing the saw.

2008年3月18日 · I run a 25 inch bar on my 361 most of the time (PNW long bar disease). Just make sure that you crank up the oiler on the 290 if you put a 25 inch bar on it. I run a 20 inch on my 290 most of the time. You can also run your 290 with a 25 inch bar with a full skip chain on it. 2/3 the cutters, more torque and you will be able to keep the revs up ...

2016年5月18日 · a quick question for those in the know. I have been cleaning up a ms 290 and checking the settings. My tach says the saw is idling at 3-4k rpms and is between 13.6-14k rpms at wot. The owners manual for the saw, also from 2011 (copyright), lists 2800 and 13,500 rpms. It lists the ms 310, 390 at a max of 13,000.

2012年2月26日 · over here in AUS the MS 290 came out standard with 3/8 7 spur sprocket and 18" bar. looking at the IPL they list .325 8 and .325 7 as optional rim sprocket kits but i then checked and they superseded to .325 9 as they all moved from the smaller 13mm bearing to the larger 16mm and my guess would be there wouldn't be enough meet on it to run any smaller than the 9 in .325. if you have a rim ...

2013年2月8日 · Just in the production lifespan of the 029/290 alone the outlet sizes have decreased. Same with 046/460 muffler outlets. Stihl has made the openings smaller over time to reduce emissions.
