2006年1月1日 · It will all depend on the input signal, and how many times it triggers the ignition to fire per revolution. Being a 4 cylinder, the 8981 would need to see 4 triggers per revolution since the distributor is running off the crank. If it fired on the intake only, you would need only 2 trigger signals per revolution.

If you currently have a timing control that has a retard, you can remove this control and just use the PN 8981, which also has a single stage of retard for nitrous application. You will connect the Crane to the white wire of the PN 8981 and the yellow wire of the 8981 will connect to the white wire of the MSD 6AL.

2005年10月21日 · This is my setup: MSD 6T, BlasterII coil, programmable timing computer #8981, soft touch rev limiter, tach adapter #8910. Engine is a Ford 302, Ford Duraspark distributor. I recently removed the Ford Duraspark amplifier module and the MSD is now triggered from the distributor via the magnetic pickup wire.

Geneguy, I had similar problems in the past. I currently have my distributor locked at 38' total and am using an MSD 8981 timing computer (with an MSD 6 box though) which also has a built in retard of 20' so on startup I am at 18' initial timing. The result is the same as what you want.
