Marines possessing MOS 8151 who are serving with the Marine Security Guard Battalion (MSGBN), or previously served with the MSGBN in MOS 8151 billets at embassies, are eligible to receive the Marine Corps Security Guard Ribbon (MCSGR).

The Marine Corps Security Guard Ribbon is officially hallmarked by the U.S. Institute of Heraldry. This ribbon is awarded to individuals of the Marine Corps who had successful completion of 24 months of cumulative security guard duty service at a foreign service establishment.
