2015年4月9日 · Great bivy Yes they do but its a frightful bit more than the mss bivy even if you dont like or mess up your mod you can still buy anther bivy and supplies coreect any learned issues and still have a couple hundred bucks left over.

2014年12月14日 · MSS is old (BDU camo bivy, black Intermediate bag) or new (ACU bivy, gray bag). Both use the green Patrol bag. The new USMC Sleep System (or whatever it's official name) is the one with coyote bivy with bug net. The bags are a little different (designed to work with the new bivy, and different temp ratings).

2016年5月14日 · I've got a bivy sack and also a MSS Green intermediate bag. I find the bag a bit heavy/bulky for bush bumming. I also have a wool blanket that's half the packed size and weighs less as well. I really don't need a 10deg bag in the simmer months.

2020年10月12日 · In terms of using a bivy with a tarp as mentioned by the OP especially to save on weight the MSS is the last thing I'd think of. Light weight bivies like my Boarh Gear posted in my first post are what come to mind.

Sometimes i'll use the system but mostly just the bivy sack over couple different bags (30 deg, 15 deg, and 5 deg), two by Marmot, one by feathered friends. Does add nice moisture protection and like a previous poster said any dead air space created will be additional warmth...

2014年5月5日 · I just used the MSS Bivy and Patrol bag this past weekend. The patrol bag is rated for 30-50 degrees and I was quite comfy until sometime in the middle of the night when the temperature dropped to probably higher 30s.

2013年1月5日 · There is an order in which to put them together.Gortex Bivy is on the outside, next is the over sized Patrol Bag, and the Intermediate Black Bag is the inside layer.

2017年9月9日 · The SOL bivy made a big difference and the Xlite is very comfortable although I would sacrifice a little space and get the women's version (slightly warmer and the length is between a full and 3/4 length pad. As for the mss and similiar systems, they're huge and heavy. I wouldn't even look into them for a small/light kit.
