2016年6月19日 · The MT-55A is an armored vehicle-launched bridge (AVLB) tank, manufactured by ZTS Martin in Slovakia. The AVLB is based on a T-55A medium tank chassis, with the turret detached and replaced by a special bridge launching equipment. The MT-55A was produced for the armies of the Warsaw Pact (including the Soviet Army), as well as for export clients.

This system is mounted on the adapted chassis of a medium tank T-55A, where a special launching unit replaces a combat turret. The armoured vehicle can easily launch its bridge span over antitank entrenchments, ditches or other obstacles in order to facilitate their passage by mechanised and armoured units.

The MT 55 A is an armoured vehicle with gunnery and anti-radiation resistance on par with the T 55 A tank, designed for rapid bridging of water, terrain and other obstacles and roadblocks in contact with enemy fire. Mostný tank MT-55 A, vežové číslo 505, tvorí súčasť zbierkového fondu VHÚ – VHM Piešťany. Vyrobili ho v apríli 1978 v Závodoch ťažkého strojárenstva v Martine. Po funkčných skúškach bolo pridelené 2. tankovej základni v Kroměříži, neskôr ďalšiemu útvaru v tomto moravskom meste.
