Mount Fyffe is a mountain peak in the Seaward Kaikōura Range, in the Canterbury region of New Zealand's South Island. [2] The mountain was named after Robert Fyffe , a whaler who introduced sheep and milking goats to Kaikōura.

2023年2月16日 · Mt Fyffe is one of the best day hikes on the South Island, with incredible mountain views in one direction and coastal views in the other. If you want to extend the adventure you can even stay in the picturesque hut two thirds of the way up. It’s a great spot for sunset and stargazing!

Mt Fyffe (1602 m) is located on the Seaward Kaikōura Range and overlooks the Kaikōura coastline. The mountain provides amazing views of Kaikōura and the main peaks of the Seaward Range further inland, and can be climbed as a day walk or as an overnight trip, with Mt Fyffe Hut located partway up.

This is a steep and hard summit track to Mount Fyffe. The track starts with a 4WD track from the car park to Mt Fyffe Hut. The hut is at 1100 m with spectacular views of the Kaikoura Peninsula.

2021年5月11日 · Mount Fyffe (sitting at 1602m) and the Kaikoura Ranges are absolutely breath taking and certainly one of the reasons to visit the adorable small town of Kaikoura. During winter time these snow covered mountains dominate the skyline and witnessing a sunrise or sunset from the waterfront with the ranges as the backdrop is quite impressive.

Superb views over the Kaikōura plains and peninsula reward those who climb on Mt Fyffe (1602 m). On a clear day the view at higher levels includes Banks Peninsula and the North Island. From Mt Fyffe carpark follow the 4WD road up the mountain's long south-west ridge. The road goes right to the summit; a return journey of about 8 hours.

Mt Fyffe carpark is about 15 km from town via Ludstone, Swamp and finally Postman's Roads. To get to Fyffe-Palmer Scenic Reserve drive out of town on Ludstone Road; turn right onto Mt Fyffe Road and follow it to its end. The Hapuku road end is 3 km along Parson's Road which leaves State Highway 1, 10 km north of town.
